Sarah and I took a small adventure this weekend because the weather was nice and I wanted to get some more time in flying the new drone (DJI Mini 3). We had driven past the Seven Magic Mountains art installation a few times on our way down to Goodsprings and thought it would be a good location to do a flyover.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s a huge stack of colored rocks that looks cool from the side of the road but even more impressive up close. We wandered around for a bit and then I sat down nearby to get a few shots from the air.
Afterwards we drove over to the Jean Dry Lakebed where a number of people were out doing motor biking and dune buggying (buggy driving? what’s the verb there?)
Since it was still nice out and we were already south of Las Vegas we thought it would be cool to check out Buffalo Bill’s casino in Primm. Primm is one of the locations that shows up in Fallout New Vegas and, in the game, there is a hotel that has a huge roller coaster running through it. Well, to no ones surprise, it actually exists! I grabbed a quick flyover of the hotel and coaster, and then left quickly before someone yelled at me for doing so.
I assembled the whole trip into a short video on Youtube. Be sure to check it out!
